Roundhouse Products plans to introduce eight new CD/multimedia storage systems for home and portable at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show. Two of the storage products are for the home and six are portable units. The company has also signed a development and design contract with Avery Dennison. The home storage products will cost approximately $15 and $30. The portable units will cost between $7 and $45.
Roundhouse Products, a maker of CD/multimedia storage systems, will present eight new home and portable storage systems at Winter CES.
Press Conference at CES
In addition, Roundhouse will hold a press conference at CES to herald a new CD-ROM storage design and development relationship with Avery Dennison. Details of the deal, said Roundhouse officials, will be released at the show.
Featuring dual-pocket, clipable double sleeves that hold CDs and their companion booklets for easy shuttling between home and portable storage units, Roundhouse’s new introductions include two home CD storage systems and five portable CD units under the CD Projects brand. Also new is a portable phone/face plate case. All products will be available for first-quarter shipment.
New Roundhouse products are to include the Roladisc file, an enclosed, stackable ‘track drawer’ home storage unit designed to hold a maximum of 100 compact discs. The sturdy plastic storage file has a suggested retail price of $29.95.
The Roladisc Compact
The Roladisc compact resembles a telephone card file and is suited for quickly accessing and returning CDs. Suited for a shelf or desktop setting, the storage system (configured with 25 double sleeves) holds a maximum of 100 CDs. It has a suggested retail price of $14.95.
Roundhouse will also unveil two portable CD/Tape Traveler cases featuring combined CD and cassette storage capability. Both models feature durable, matte black leather-like covers and the patented CD Projects double sleeve disc holders.
Model CDT 24/4 features 12 disc sleeves for a total capacity of 24 CDs and twin molded plastic cassette trays designed to hold a total of four tapes. Suggested retail price is $14.95. Model CDT 50/8 holds up to 50 CDs in 25 disc sleeves. Four cassette trays hold a maximum of eight tapes ready for easy access. Suggested retail price is $29.95.
The new portable CarryCase 150 holds a maximum of 150 CDs via a supplied 75 double sleeves. The matte black, leather-like case features secure, zippered closure and offers a shoulder strap in addition to a carry handle. Suggested retail price is $44.95.
Roundhouse Products will also add a new model Flipcase 15 portable CD case with room for 10 CDs in their double sleeves with booklets or 15 CDs without booklets. The plastic case has a $6.95 suggested retail price.
The Ultralight 20 is a sleek sturdy hard case fashioned out of molded plastic and can hold a total of 20 CDs within the included 10 double sleeves (or 10 CDs with booklets). The unit closes securely via a topmounted slide closure. Suggested retail price is $6.95.
Also new from Roundhouse in 1994 is its model PF1 Phone/Face plate case. It holds a portable cellular phone or a detachable car stereo faceplate and has a utility pouch that will conveniently hold a pen and memo pad.
An elastic band holds the phone or faceplate securely, and a central opening is provided for the antenna. The black, leather-like case is zippered and features both a belt clip and a webbed strap handle. Suggested retail price is $9.95.
